NEWT GRINGRICH PROPOSES PAYING TEENS: “Newt Gingrich, often cited as a Republican prospect for president in 2012, says the state should consider paying teenager girls not to get pregnant.”
I don’t think this plan is going to work in the long run, because who is going to pay the girl to not get pregnant out-of-wedlock when she gets out of high school? College? And beyond? Of course, I’m more concerned about the increase in general of single moms of all ages, and not just teenage single moms.
And what about teenage boys? Who is going to pay them to not sleep around?

OREGON PROPOSES BICYCLE TAX: “a bill is proposed in Oregon that would require cyclists to pay a $54 registration every two years.”
Hmmm…. I wouldn’t mind paying a tax to help with upkeep of the roads, but if the cyclist also owns a car, couldn’t they simply lump the registrations together? Also, this does not bode well for cyclists’ privacy.
