Educator Falsely Accused of Child Pornography: “It was an incident that began innocently enough, but nearly ruined the life and three-decade career of a veteran high school teacher and administrator.

I can’t help but wonder if dirty school politics and/or racism had anything to do with this case? Many have suggested that Mr. Oei was Nifonged, to which I agree. But I also think that he was in a sense, bullied.

If you wish to contribute to Mr. Oei’s legal defense fund, go here.

Broward schools seek $500 mil “stimulus package”. “Without a good public education system, you don’t have a good workforce.”

One can read that quote both ways -

“Without a good public education system, you don’t have a good workforce.” (Why does it have to be public?)

“Without a good public education system, you don’t have a good workforce.” (Aha! A “good” workforce that is dumbed down and subservient to the state.”

COLLEGE IS OVERRATED AND EXPENSIVE: “I wasn’t a good student in high school, but I wanted to prove that I can get a college diploma. I’d be the first one in my family to do it. But it’s been five years and $80,000, and I still have 45 credits to go.”

This story is especially poignant for me because my husband had a similar story in high school. A high school counselor flat out said he shouldn’t go to college. Years later, he is still working on it, the difference being that he is not in debt and is going to school part-time.
